University of Sheffield, CEL

Department Of Geography, 2nd Year PhD student

Thesis Title: Democratic Politics for Community Economies

I’m in the first year of my PhD in the University of Sheffield department of Geography. I am 1+3 funded and completed my MA Social Research last year. I graduated with an MSci Geography from the University of Bristol in 2015. Since then, I have worked in an employability charity and a Students’ Union, where I worked with campaigns groups and student representatives.
My research interests are alternative economic practices, post-capitalism and democratic politics. I’m also interested in innovative qualitative methods and co-productive approaches. Outside of my PhD, I love running and walking. I am also a trustee at University of Sheffield Students’ Union.
I joined the PGR Forum because I think it is so important for research students to have the opportunity to shape their experience. I would love to hear your feedback and ideas, so please feel free to get in touch.
