SUMMARY:Questionnaire design: Measuring concepts and testing their reliability and validity

PGRs from all seven interdisciplinary Pathways are welcome to attend.
The questionnaire is a commonly used data collection tool in survey research. This training event will start with the process of questionnaire construction and then discuss the general guidelines that need to be considered for asking survey questions. It will then demonstrate how to prepare multi-item scales/indices to measure abstract concepts in research. It will end by introducing different statistical techniques that can be used to assess the reliability and validity of measures developed for the research. The session will combine lectures, group activities, and practical lab exercises.
On successful completion of this Course Unit students will be able to:

Develop multiple-item scales and indices for the questionnaire.
Assess the reliability and validity of measures developed for research.
Apply appropriate statistical techniques for testing reliability and validity.
