This year’s event will be hosted by the University of York.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Please see the schedule further down this page for information on the content of this event. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
This is a compulsory event for WRDTP/ESRC-funded PGRs starting their PhD in the 2025-26 academic year. Those who have previously attended the Welcome Event (i.e. in October 2024, during their Master’s year) are not required to attend again. However, if this applies to you, please email training@wrdtp.ac.uk to confirm that you will not be attending.
This event is also open to:

All non-WRDTP/ESRC-funded social sciences PhD students from WRDTP partner universities;
WRDTP/ESRC-funded students undertaking their Master’s in the 2025-26 academic year (although attendance at this event is recommended in the first year of PhD study, i.e. in October 2026);
Supervisors of social sciences PhD students at WRDTP partner universities (including those funded by the WRDTP/ESRC and those with other funding arrangements).
