The Scottish Graduate School of Social Science DTP is delighted to open its Business Booster Training Programme for other DTP students.
The Business Booster Programme is an interactive six week programme, which will give PhD students the opportunity to learn more about commercialisation and industry, and meet and network with business leaders, whilst working in small multi-disciplinary research teams.
Open to PhD researchers in their second and third year of study, the Business Booster programme will introduce researchers to start-up companies and large firms using a mixture of practical experience, direct business engagement, and MBA-style teaching.
The training programme is designed to be valuable for the career development of PhD researchers, whether you are looking to work with industry partners within academia or potentially move into non-academic employment once you complete your PhD.
Researchers will gain important transferable skills, such as:
- Negotiating
- Problem solving
- Communication
- Pitching skills
- Networking
