Infrastructure Investigations: Event Resources

This event comprised of a morning session that explored innovative methods for interdisciplinary infrastructure investigations through the following talks and mini-workshops:

Professor Vanesa Castán Broto (University of Sheffield) “Urban Energy Landscapes” – focusing on a case study of Mozambique. Details of the book that this talk was based on can be found here.

Dr. Martin Dodge (University of Manchester) “Historical Geographies of Infrastructure – The value of maps, plans, diagrams, and other visual documentations”. Details of the book that this talk was based on can be found here.

Ashley Lewis (PhD Researcher, University of Nottingham) gave a talk and mini-workshop on her PhD, which explores interdisciplinary research approaches to urban sustainability research projects. Here is a link to the Leverhulme Trust funded research programme that Ashley’s PhD is connected to.

Dr. Aimee Ambrose (Sheffield Hallam University) “Walking with Energy – overcoming energy invisibility through research participation?”. The link to the Festival of Social Science event that this talk was based on can be found here.

In the afternoon pathway members went out to explore urban infrastructure in more depth through a visit to either Sheffield’s Energy Recovery Facility, or the Park Hill flats.
