Thesis title: How structure, agency and reflexivity inform the career decision-making of the teaching workforce in English schools

My research is inspired from my academic background in sociology and my experience working in English schools. I am interested in applying sociological theory (particularly, Bourdieu, Archer and Sen) to empirical research. Whilst completing my MA in Social Research, I became interested in expanding my knowledge of data collection instruments and, alongside my PhD, I enjoy learning about novel methods.
I joined the WRDTP PGR Forum to provide a link between the White Rose, the University of York, and the wider WRDTP student population. I am a firm believer in utilising student voice in education to enhance student experience, particularly for students from ‘non-traditional’ backgrounds.
