Thesis title: How do heavy drinkers make enduring changes to their alcohol consumption following participation in Dry January?

I’m a first year Psychology PhD student and completed the MA Social Research as part of the 1+3 studentship. Prior to this I graduated with a BSc Psychology and foundation year from the University of Sheffield in 2020 having returned to university as a mature student.

My research interests are alcohol use, addiction and behaviour change. The focus of my PhD research is on understanding the psychological and social changes which underpin long-term reductions in alcohol consumption following participation in Dry January.

I joined the PGR forum as I think that it’s important that feedback, suggestions, and ideas from students contribute towards developing and shaping the program for the benefit of current and future students.
