Project Description

Police Digital Service (PDS) Cyber Services provides core assurance and operational cyber security support to policing at a national level to both police forces and national systems.

The placement will involve interviewing key individuals from across policing to understand their risk appetite and concerns regarding various cyber security challenges.

The risk appetite has been set in its existing format for several years, and research into the views of key stakeholders across the community will be beneficial to inform the development of a new risk strategy, which will practically impact the delivery of the new police secure by design approach.

The placement will require you to interview c.10-12 key stakeholders against key themes which you will identify with the host. You will design a semi-structured interview script and select a suitable qualitative method to analyse the interviews. The output will take the form of a written report.

You will have considerable scope to influence and make recommendations on national policy and practice in policing through this placement, and have the opportunity to present your findings to senior police stakeholders.
