South and East Network for Social Sciences (SENSS) DTP

Introduction to Computational Methods and Simulations: running over four blocks from Tuesday 19th-Friday 22nd May 2026. This four-day online training event introduces core ideas, methods, and research practices in Computational Social Science (CSS), with a particular focus on computational simulations, agent-based modelling, and natural language processing (NLP). The course is designed to provide doctoral researchers with a conceptual and methodological foundation for understanding when and how computational approaches can be used to address social science research questions.

Introduction to Panel Surveys, Understanding Society and Panel Data: This course (on Friday 29th May 2026, at the Edinburgh Futures Institute) is intended for quantitative researchers and data analysts who possess some prior experience in cross-sectional data analysis and wish to begin working with longitudinal or panel data.
