Are you curious about life after your doctoral studies? This session will showcase the diverse professional paths available to social science PhD graduates. Whether you are aiming for a career in academia, industry, policy, or the third sector, this event will help you envision your next steps and build your professional network.
Connect with a vibrant community of recent White Rose Doctoral Training Partnership (WRDTP) graduates who are now thriving across various sectors. This is your opportunity to gain firsthand insights, hear about key career milestones, and pick up practical tips for navigating the post-PhD job market.
Event Structure:
The session will be split into two interactive 45-minute segments:
- Part 1: The Alumni Panel (45 mins) Hear from three WRDTP alumni with contrasting career paths in both academic and non-academic industries. They will be discussing their personal career journeys, how their doctoral research shaped their current success, and their top tips for preparing yourself for a thriving career after graduation.
- Part 2: Interactive Networking (45 mins) Transition into informal breakout rooms to meet even more WRDTP alumni. This is your chance to ask specific questions, engage in informal professional development, and network directly with our panellists and fellow researchers.
