What’s policy got to do with it?
Understanding and creating policy impact in health, wellbeing and communities.
This training session has been organised by the Wellbeing, Health and Communities (WHC) pathway and is open to all ESRC and non-ESRC funded PhD and MA Social Research students within the WRDTP’s seven partner universities. Whilst it will be of particular use to WHC students, PGRs from all seven interdisciplinary Pathways are welcome to attend.
In this workshop, participants will learn about why policy matters for researchers and how to engage with policy makers to create impact. Specifically, considering the health and wellbeing sectors, we will explore the different groups you can engage with and how to go about doing so. We will consider the ways researchers can use their work to influence policy for impact. The session gives participants an opportunity to consider how policy and policy impact may fit into their own work creating more impact. Participants will leave with specific actions to create policy impact from their own work.
