About the Placement

We have an existing relationship with the University of York and the placement was proposed by contacts there.

What was the most significant outcome or deliverable achieved during the placement?

The candidate completed a piece of research analysis and wrote up the findings to be published shortly. They also supported delivery of a major conference, convening 450 people from across the country around local anti-poverty work.

What was the most challenging aspect of supervising/hosting a placement, and how did you address it?

There wasn’t really anything challenging.

What tips or advice would you give to current or future host organisations interested in undertaking a placement?

Embrace the candidate, trust their knowledge and skills, give them a challenge.
